Find Markets Tips

“Find Markets” tool serves to find and load multiple markets of a certain type. It is available from “File->Find Markets” menu in the bot. There are presets to load UK, AUS and US horse races (both Win and Place markets), UK and AUS greyhound races and certain football markets. However sometimes these presets are not enough to load markets you want. For example, you may want to load forecast (FC) markets for greyhounds, RSA or NZL horse racing or Half Time markets for football, which are not available via presets. Here we demonstrate several examples how you can load markets using custom criteria.

 

General steps

Open Find Markets window (File->Find Markets menu in the bot). To load custom markets, you should select a sports type of the markets. To do this, select “Other…” menu (highlighted in red circle on the above picture). You will see Market Tree window, showing a list of all available markets on Betfair:

Select a sports category you want to load. In our example it is “Greyhound – Today’s Card”. The bot will look for markets containing in the category. Click OK. You will see your selected item on the “Markets to load” bar. Remember, if you want to load greyhound racing, select “Greyhound – Today’s Card”, for horse racing select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, for football select “Football Fixtures” for the day.

1. Loading Forecast (FC) markets for Greyhounds

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Greyhound – Today’s Card”, click OK. Type “(FC)” (without quotes) in the “Node Name” box. Click “Search”, the bot will find all forecast markets for today’s greyhound racing.

2. Loading Forecast (F/C) markets for Horse Racing

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, click OK. Type “(F/C)” (without quotes) in the “Node Name” box. Click “Search”, the bot will find all forecast markets for today’s UK horse racing. Example:

3. Loading AvB markets for Horse Racing

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, click OK. Type “(AvB)” (without quotes) in the “Node Name” box. Click “Search”, the bot will find all AvB markets for today’s UK horse racing.

4. Loading New Zealand (NZL) markets for Horse Racing

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, click OK. In the “Node Name” box, if you want:

1) load WIN markets only – type in “NZL,!Place” (without quotes);

2) load PLACE markets only – type in “NZL,Place” (without quotes);

3) load both WIN and PLACE markets – type in “NZL” (without quotes).

Click “Search”, the bot will find all New Zealand markets for today’s horse racing.

5. Loading South Africa (RSA) markets for Horse Racing

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, click OK. In the “Node Name” box, if you want:

1) load WIN markets only – type in “RSA,!Place” (without quotes);

2) load PLACE markets only – type in “RSA,Place” (without quotes);

3) load both WIN and PLACE markets – type in “RSA” (without quotes).

Click “Search”, the bot will find all South Africa markets for today’s horse racing.

6. Loading French (FRA) markets for Horse Racing

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Horse Racing – Today’s Card”, click OK. In the “Node Name” box, if you want:

1) load WIN markets only – type in “FRA,!Place” (without quotes);

2) load PLACE markets only – type in “FRA,Place” (without quotes);

3) load both WIN and PLACE markets – type in “FRA” (without quotes).

Click “Search”, the bot will find all French markets for today’s horse racing.

7. Loading “First Half Goals 0.5” football markets

Select “Other…” in the drop-down menu and in the popup window select “Football Fixtures” for the day, say, “Fixtures 30 March”. Click OK. Type “First Half Goals 0.5” (without quotes) in the “Node Name” box. Click “Search”, the bot will find all such markets for football. Example:

8. Loading other Football markets

You can load virtually any football markets available on Betfair, for example Half Time, Next Goal, etc. The procedure is the same as loading First Half Goals markets (see above). The only difference is to put Half Time, Next Goal or any other name of markets you want in the “Node Name” box.

9. Removing harness racing from Australian markets search

To remove all harness racing data and special bets from the search, first select Horse Racing -> AUS under the ‘Markets to load’. Then put !Placed,!Trot,!Pace,!Sire,!Jockey,!Acca,!Margin,!Quinella into “In Market Name” box. This will give you a clean, win bets only, list of thoroughbred runners.
